I went for lunch at the Fairview Lounge (Panka Peru) with a friend. This is 1 of 2 Peruvian restaurants in the St. Louis area. It doesn't look like much from the outside (it also hosts a Conoco station) but the food is excellent! I had the Ceviche, which I loved. My friend tasted it and said it was just like she had eaten in Lima. We shared an empanada which was wonderful. She had the Seco de Carne which I tasted and was also quite good. They have an amazing beer selection and a full bar that includes traditional Peruvian drinks. The prices were very reasonable. One of the owners came out to see how we were doing and was very friendly. I plan to visit again!

Everytime I eat here it's been flavorful, unique, quality, and fresh food. Authentic Peruvian fare. I recommend it. Don't let the outside gas station put you off. The dining area is nicely decorated. The Owner is always friendly and welcoming. Many varieties of beer on tap and bottled.

Such flavorful good food. My friend recommended this place, and I'm glad she did. I ordered the lentils with steak and eggs. The steak was tough, but the lentils were so good that it made up for it. The egg was cooked to perfection. The others ordered a Peruvian salad, chicken kabob, steak and fries, and Peruvian fried rice. They all liked their dishes, except the one who ordered fried rice. Oh well, you can't win them all. I will definitely be returning to this place to try the other dishes.

Seriously people, visit my buddy Abraham and let him make you the most flavorful food! The menu is full of too many favorites too single out any. From fried rice, to delicious seafood, to amazing fried fish. Can't be beat! And order a margarita! This place is one of Fairview Heights' best kept secret!

I'd had friends go here about 5 months ago and rave about it so I brought my grown son for his birthday. He's from the area and didn't know this place existed, I'm from out of town. We drove up to the Conoco gas station, patrons pumping gas, and about drove on until we looked at the building with the Fairview Lounge on it. You walk into the small lobby as if you are paying for your gasoline but straight ahead, slightly to the left is the door to the restaurant ... and WOW how deceptive. We were treated to 2 beer samples and decided to allow the owner to pick our food. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Its kind of an odd joint with it being an old gas station. The food is really good though. I generally get the grilled meat platter that is awesome. They have a really hot red sauce you have to ask for. Good craft beer selection as well! One of my favorite places to eat in the area.
